Elsie B. Totten

Elsie Dossett Browning Totten, age 88, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family oneednesday, September 27, 2017. A Durham native, Elsie was born to the late Frank and Lela Dossett Browning on April 22, 1929. She was a long-time member of Mt. Bethel Presbyterian Church in Durham. Elsie is survived by her two loving children, Betsy T. Mincey and husband, Warren H. Jr., of Yanceyville, NC; William S. Totten, Jr. and wife, Sandra, of Durham, NC; four grandchildren, Ashley Marie Totten, Callie Elizabeth Totten, Warren Scott Mincey (Camryn), and Aneew Woodard Mincey; and one great granddaughter, Warren Mae ???Winee??? Mincey. She was preceded ineeath by her loving husband of 62 years, William S. Totten, who died in 2011. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Mt. Bethel Presbyterian Church with Reverend Ingram Hedgpeth presiding. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 11:00-12:00 in the church. The family extends their deep appreciation to the many family members and devoted caregivers who compassioneely supported and cared for Elsie during her decline.
