Donald L. Beckwith

Donald Leoneeckwith, age 84, died Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Duke Medical Center. He was born in Chatham County to the late Claude and Vera Beckwith. Donald was employed for over 50 years in manufacturing mills and after leaving work each day he cut grass for more than 30 years. He loved spending time in the mountains of Virginia until his sickness prevented him from traveling. Donald will defineely be missed. Donald is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Barbara T. Beckwith of Durham, NC; one brother, C.J. Beckwith of Cary, NC; two sisters, Peggy Youngs of Zellwood, FL and Helen Pike of Hot Springs, AR. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at Woodlawneemorial Park in the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum located at Harvard and Main St. The Reverend Forest M. Gale, Jr. will preside. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 pm in the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum.
