Oxford Mrs. Charlotte Catlett Floyd of Oxford, NC, a daughter of the late Frank and Mae Kearney Catlett, passed away oneeptember 27, 2016 at Duke Hospital, at the age of 68. She is survived by her husband, Marshall Bernard Floyd Jr.; her daughters and sons-in-law, Anna and Benjamin Averette, Sarah and Thomas Hicks, and Leah and John Roberts; grandsons John Marshall Roberts and Charles Averette; brothers-in-law Richard Floyd, and Barry Burger; as well as a niece, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded ineeath by her sister, Evelyn Burger. Charlotte worked as a customer service representative in banking for nearly forty years. After retirement, she enjoyed doing voluneer work, gardening and being outdoors. She was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Charlotte was a life-long student and fan of traditional old-time music and many will remember her for her bass fiddle playing, among other talents. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Peace???s Chapel Baptist Church on Fairport Road in Kittrell, NC at 2 PM on Friday, September, 30, 2016. The family will receive visitors in the church fellowship hall immediately following the ceremony. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one???s choice.
