Creedmoor: Bertie Lee Qualls, died March 20, 2013 at Uneersal Health Care. She was a native of Kanawha Co., West Virginia and was the daughter of the late George and Maggie Stevens Robertson. Mrs. Qualls was married to the late Raymond Qualls for 64 years. Bertie was a beautician for 20 years, member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Hurricane West Virginia, for 56 years, where she did a lot of work for the church. She was an avid golfer of 35 years, Past President of the Women's Club in Hurricane and member of the Hill and Valley Garden Club. She was responsible for starting the Food Cupboard and the Hospice in Putnam Co. Memorial services will be conducted Monday March 25, 2013 at 2:00 PM in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church by Rev. James Pahl. Burial will take place later in the Hurricane Towneemetery. The family will receive friends following the services in the Parrish Hall of the church. Surviving is a daughter, Pam Muller and husband William Muller, III of Creedmoor; granddaughter, Tabitha Wade of Stem; great grandchildren, Mikaela Wade, Seth Wade and Cathlin Millichip. She was preceded ineeath by brothers, George B. Robertson and Lonee H. Robertson. The family request the omission of flowers and memorials may be made to the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 140 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565.
